Passion Projects

Over the last term the older kids in the school have been working on projects based around topics that we are passionate about. We like to call these our "Passion Projects". These are now finished and we will be sharing them with our classmates over the next while. If you would like to see some of them please come along to this week's assembly where some of them will be shared. Also, you could come into class and see them there.  

Year 8 Water Day

Last Friday the Year 8's travelled to Glenavy for their final Year 8 day. This term it was a water day and they all thoroughly enjoyed getting absolutely soaked! This was an excellent opportunity to meet up with friends to farewell and also meet people that they will be seeing next year when they go to high school. Just another thank you to everyone who helped organise the event, as seeing everyone smiling and laughing would not have been possible without you! ;)

Mufti Day

On Tuesday the 20th, the whole school organised a mufti day. It was great to see all of the bright colours, and even better that it was for a good cause! All of the money raised will go towards a new classroom for next year, and also for new resources.

Reminders

Just a few reminders for everyone.....

On Tuesday (tommorow) we have a whole school mufti-day to raise money for school resources, so please bring a gold coin donation.

When we know who is going through to the North Otago's we will let you know who, when and where.

We also have the Year 8's heading away to Glenavy this Friday for the final Year 8 day. They will be having a water day, so please remember to bring a towel and a change of clothes.

The school production is fast approaching and we are very excited! Almost all of us have learnt our scripts off by heart, so keep up the good work!

Athletics

On Friday 9th, Ardgowan school travelled out to Glenavy school to participate in the Athletics. Some of the activities were Shotput, Discus, 400m run, High jump, Long jump, and Sprints. All students did exceptionally well, breaking personal records and showing great sportsmanship. Well done to everyone, and good luck to those who have managed to qualify for the North Otago's.     ;)

Room 2 Camp

In Week 3 Room 2 went on camp and had a lot of fun doing a photo challenge (including 'Your group dancing in a public place' and 'The flashest most expensive car you could find.), climbing Mt. Puketapu in Palmerston, an Amazing Race, Curling and Adventure Games with Rob from Vertical Ventures. On Wednesday we all biked 35km from Wedderburn to Lauder, and some of us biked 70km to Alexandra. On Thursday we had a swim at the Alexandra pool.

The campsites we stayed at were: Larchveiw (in Naseby) and the Alexandra Tourist Park. We had a  great time and can't wait until next year!!!
